Alex "Ethical Software" Bunardzic's stingy posts are right up my alley:

one learns to become positively vendor-averse. One learns to start avoiding any vendor brewed solution. Vendors get equated with crap, and as such get eschewed from one’s attempts to find the solution.

A very significant side effect of [resource-oriented development] is that databases are from now on going to undergo progressive trivialization.

Adam Bosworth said the same thing, but I'm not completely sold on this. OTOH, in the times of meganiches and non-Aristotelian logic (yay!), there's no XOR, there's only the friendly AND.
